Statement of Indian Women's Rights Activists in Solidarity with Women in Sri Lanka
Its been more than two years since the supposed end of the war in Sri Lanka. The issues of concern are many, particularly with regard to the period after the end of direct combat. The Sri Lankan government has been abysmal in acknowledging the range of human rights violations that have been committed by the armed forces, which has been documented without a kernel of doubt by the United nations report (http://www.un.org/News/dh/infocus/Sri_Lanka/POE_Report_Full.pdf) as well as the Channel 4 documentary (http://www.channel4.com/programmes/sri-lankas-killing-fields/4od). This documentation has been made in spite of circumstances where any neutral observation of the last stages of the conflict was made impossible by the Sri Lankan government and its army.

International Day of the Worlds Indigenous Peoples, to be observed on 9 August 2011
In 1994, the General Assembly decided that the International Day of the World's Indigenous People shall be observed on 9 August every year during the International Decade of the World's Indigenous People (Resolution 49/214 of 23 December). The date marks the day of the first meeting, in 1982, of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations of the Subcommission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights. Read More

Workshop on IPs Human Right and ILO Convention on Indigenous Peoples; 169
Ilam, in the Shree Antu village development committee hall, was organized the workshop IPs human rights and ILO Convention no. 169 by CUC Katmandu, Nepal on Mangsir 13 gate 2066. The program was chaired by Mr. Bhim Kulung( The head of NGO-FONIN' Ilam Chapter). The Major aim of the program was to aware about the ILO 169 and I'ts provisions, to aware about the FPIC, to aware them to access to decision making process, to make them aware about the fundraising in local and district levels. A Day Long Workshop Held in Sangrumba VDC, Ilam
The workshop on Indigenous peoples' human rights and International Labour Organization ILO No. 169 was organized by the Chulachuli UNESCO Club Katmandu in Sangrumba VDC, Ilam on Mangsir 6, 2066. Main objectives of the program was to aware grassroots IPs on the provisions of ILO 169 and basic concept of the human rights. Indigneous Peoples are Trained on Proposal Writing
Federation of Indigenous Kirat Associations-Ilam conducted 5 days long training on Proposal Writing in cooperation of Chulachuli UNESCO Club-Kathmandu from 17 - 21 March 2008 in Ilam, Nepal. 30 indigenous youths (male and female) from diverse groups of Indigenous Kirat were present on the training. Chulachuli UNESCO Club Quiz Competition
On 30th of June 2007, a quiz competition was organized by Chualchuli UNESCO Club-Kathmandu, at Dillibazaar, Kathmandu. The program was coordinated by Aaashih Lohorung , General Member and Arati Lohorung, Vice President of the Club.
There were five teams consisting of two individuals. There were 12 rounds of questions apporximately. 60 questions from different fields viz. Politics, Science, Computer, History, Games to name some. It was enjoyed as fun rather competition by the participants.

Conflict Resolution and Peace Building Capacities Workshop cum Training
Halflong, Assam, India, 31 March 2007
Head of the Chulachuli UNESCO Club-Kathmandu, Mr. Chandra Singh Kulung recently took part in a Workshop cum Training as a delegate from Nepal that was organized by Indian Confederation of Indigenous and Tribal Peoples - North East Zone, India (ICIPT-NEZ) at the Regional level of international training. During the training the participants and delegates from different countries formed a Federation of Indigenous and Tribal Peoples in Asia for building self-rule network. The training was on Conflict Resolution and Peace Building Capacities held from 24-31 March 2007 at Guwahati and Haflong, Assam, India organized by ICITP-NEZ, member organisations, associated indigenous peoples organizations and CORE Manipur supported by allies cooperated. The training was organized in Shilpgram of Guwahati from 24-31 March and in North Hill Council, Halfloong, Assam from 30-31 March 2007. There were more than 100 participants from 68 indigenous peoples\' organizations with their indigenous leaders from all the 7 sister states of North East Zone of India - Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Arunanchal, Mizoram and Jharkhand and delegates from Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Berma.
