• Interaction Program was Held
Dilip S. Kulung The CUC KTM, has been working since 2061 B.S. in Ilam district on the overall concerns and issues of IPs as being a member organization of NGO-FONIN. That the program was facilitated by the Pradip Kulung (Representative of the CUC central committee, KTM).
The major objectives of this interaction program was to inform and discuss and interact about overall rights of IPs with the district level political parties, local bodies, IPs organizations and government officials, making guaranty of IPs representation in the decision making process as well as doing dialogue for developing the sustainable economic activities.
The program was conducted by Mrs. Kumari Yanmphu, secretary of NGO-FONIN's Ilam Chapter and chaired by the Mrs. Gita Yamphu, vice chairman of the NGO-FOININ's Ilam Chapter, Mr. Udaya Singh Kulung welcomed the all participants and guests in the beginning of the program and paper was presented in a nutshell by the Mr. Bhim Kulung, chairman of the NGO-FONIN's district chapter.
After the paper presentation the floor was opened to the program participants for the discussion, from the side of organizer, was requested to share their problems, challenges, and achievements up to date as well as was asked to adopt their future vision, mission, target, approaches and strategies. Mr. Pradip Kulung (Representative of CUC, KTM), Mr. Raj Rai (Representative of Moist Party), Mr. Sudarshan Dhakal( Chief District), Mr. Bhupa Raj Rai (Local Development offiecer), Mr. Agni Prasad Adhikari(District Planing Officer), Mr. Chhatra Ghale(Nepal Ghale Samaj, Ilam), Mrs Nirmal Limkhim(Kirat Linkhim Samaj), Bishal Kulung (Kulung Student Union, Ilam) had addressed the program and expressed their attitudes to IPs issues. Most of the speakers had emphasized about the recognition of the unlisted IPs groups, which should to be done immediately.
While Mrs Gita Yamphu was giving speech at the closing ceremony, she expressed her attitude "The IPs of Nepal has to be invited by the government bodies, in national, district level and regional level for their respective representation in the decision making process".
