• A Day Long Workshop Held in Sangrumba VDC, Ilam
Dilip S. Kulung The program was attended by the VDC level intellectual, students, different IPs groups, and political parties' leaders. The methodology of the program was to justify of objectives of the program, experience sharing among the participants, dialogue and interaction with making different groups and open floor discussion ect.
In the program, the facilitator pointed out that the IPs have been made marginalized from the mainstreaming by the non IPs Brahmin Chetri, in the inaugural session, the local IPs leaders, political parties' representatives and local NGO activists had emphasized for the effective implementation of ILO no. 169, only international legal instruments, had been ratified by the Nepal government a years ago, but not yet implemented.
The facilitator Mr. Bhim Kulung stressed about the overall rights of IPs i.e. right to all natural resources, right to self-determination, right to FPIC, right to intellectual properties, right to education, health, communication which are guaranteed by the UNDRIP and ILO no. 169.
Also was emphasized by the facilitator Mr. Kulung about the overall human rights situation of Nepalese peoples. He justified on what is human right? He talked about national and international legal treaties, declarations and convention available so far and its provisions with the program participants.
